The Allegheny Valley area of Pittsburgh stretches northeast of downtown and is bordered by the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the east.
The area's main points of interest are the 77-acre Pittsburgh Zoo, which is home to such exotic animals as Lions, zebras, black rhinos, giraffes and elephants and the new 45,000-square-foot PPG Aquarium complex.
Hotels and motels in the Allegheny Valley area are all within a few miles of the zoo and the local RIDC Industrial Park. They also offer easy access to downtown and the universities campuses.
